MURFREESBORO, TN – (TJRS) The Justin Reed Show will be embarking on a new journey this March. Murfreesboro's Home for Country Music will be doing a remote broadcast broadcast from the Reading Room at the Center for Popular Music on the MTSU Campus. The date of this broadcast will be March 20, 2014 from 7AM until 10AM. This broadcast will be open to the public.
Aside from the studio audience, The Justin Reed Show will be welcoming three special guests to the broadcast. In the 7 o'clock hour, MTSU student and Match Records recording artist Luke Caccetta will be making his second appearance on the show. He will be talking about his new music and also play live. Stephen Wade will join Justin during the 8 AM hour. Wade has recently published his new book “The Beautiful Music All Around Us: Field Recordings and the American Experience” through the University of Illinois Press; he will also talk about some of the songs he has written and the songs that inspired this work. The final musical guest to join Justin will be Becky Hobbs at 9 AM. Hobbs is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and has written a musical. She will be talking about her music and some of the hits she has written; she will also perform live.
This broadcast is co-sponsored by the Center for Popular Music (CPM) and the Center for Innovation in Media (CIM). The CPM is a world renown research facility that resides directly on the MTSU campus; they have sound recordings and sheet music dating back to the 1700s. They regularly help Justin with some of the music he plays on the show. The CIM is one of the newest places on campus and it is also the home of Studio B and WMTS. Both directors Dale Cockrell and Stephan Foust will also be a part of the show.
Fans of The Justin Reed Show are welcome to come to the broadcast as well as any person that is interested in music and radio. Each week, Justin plays the best in classic country and bluegrass music dating from 1924 to the present and each week features guest stars.
