Christians have been worshipping in this area since as early as 1805; this building was built in the early 1830s. Many famed Gospel preachers have preached here and David Lipscomb preached his first sermon here. In 1985/86 the building was restored and a week-long meeting has been held here the first full week in May since. Singings began a few years ago - they are "always the first Friday Night in October."
